What exactly is a Home Inspection?
A report based on the inspector’s objective visual findings.  The report will provide information on major deficiencies, areas of concern as well as information on recalls and estimated ages of any appliances in the home.  Should you decide to purchase the home, this report will become a reference in that it will educate you on the systems, fixtures and other features.

Should my new construction home be inspected?
ABSOLUTELY!  Any home, regardless of age should be inspected for defects.  Not all homes will have flaws but it will provide a piece of mind.

Will I be expected to attend the inspection?
It is highly recommended that you attend the inspection as you will learn many things about your potential new home.  It is also recommended that your realtor/agent or their representative attend with you, this will provide them information to assist you in making an objective decision.

If you are not able to attend, it is suggested that you send someone in your place.  A family representative and/or your realtor/agent might be a good choice.

What needs to be done to prepare for the inspection?
Entrance to the property and all utilities should be on (gas, electric, and water as required).
